Celebrate the serene beauty of Japan's iconic landscape with this exquisite hand-knotted pictorial wool rug featuring Mount Fuji. Woven entirely by skilled artisans in Turkmenistan, it seamlessly blends the tranquility of Eastern nature with the geometric elegance of traditional Turkmen borders.

Measuring 70 x 114 cm (2.3' x 3.7' ft) and weighing approx. 4 kg, this piece captures a breathtaking scene: vibrant pink cherry blossoms framing the majestic snow-capped mountain, with its peaceful reflection resting on the water below. More than a rug—this is a tranquil landscape turned into textile art.

Ideal for wall display or as a framed statement piece in refined interiors, it transforms any room into a gallery space. The high-quality wool provides a rich texture and depth of color that brings the scenery to life, perfectly blending cross-cultural visual storytelling with exceptional craftsmanship.

Please ignore any creases on the rug, as these are due to it being tightly packed during transit. The creases will naturally disappear within about a week once the rug is laid flat or properly hung. Additionally, please note that colors may slightly differ from the images shown due to lighting conditions and screen settings.

How do I care for my handmade rug?

During the weaving process, handmade rugs remain on the loom for an extended period. Over time, this can lead to a buildup of microscopic dust particles within the fibers — often invisible to the naked eye. As the rug is used, these particles gradually rise to the surface. With regular vacuuming, these fine particles are removed, revealing the rug’s true colors and natural vibrancy.

Unlike mass-produced carpets, handmade rugs don’t wear out with use — in fact, they get better. As you walk on them and care for them properly, the fibers become softer, the colors deepen, and the rug develops even more character. With the right maintenance, a handmade rug doesn’t just last — it becomes more beautiful and valuable with time.

If you're storing your wool rug for an extended period, it’s important to let it breathe. Every 3–4 months, take the rug out, lay it in the sun for a few hours, and allow it to air out. This helps prevent moisture buildup, discourages moths, and keeps the wool fibers fresh and healthy. Proper storage and occasional sunlight can significantly extend the life of your rug.

Returns & Exchanges

Since shipping is one-way and costs are significant, we do not offer returns or exchanges. To ensure your satisfaction, we send detailed videos and photos of the rugs before shipping.
